We are visiting the fantastic Trollfjord: The Trollfjord is one of the most visited nature attractions in Lofoten. The fjord is a sidearm the Raftsund east in Lofoten. The fjord is 2 km long, and only 100 meters wide at the most narrow. The steep mountains surrounding the fjord are between 600 and 1100 metres high. The fjord has also played an important part in our fisheries. The battle of the Trollfjord in 1890 is immortalized through Johan Bojer`s novel, «The Last Viking», and one of painter Gunnar Berg`s (1863-1893) main works. This was such an excellent excursion. The views of trollfjord were breathtaking and the speedboat was a thrilling experience. We saw many eagles close up and got excellent pictures with the stops! The company provides all the gear you need to stay as dry as possible which is a huge plus if you’re packing light! Definitely a must-do in svolvaer.

It was a wonderful experience. We really had a great time. The staff is service-minded and informative. The ride was very enjoyable. I really recommend this activity.

Went this past week.. Got up and the weather was relatively clear and cold.. By the time I arrived at the dock area and out on all my gear and walked out to the boat.. a blizzard had started.. Just another day in Norway.. Our guide took us out and it slowed and cleared a bit.. We got to the first Eagle location and had a good amount circle the boat.. Lots of photos.. Next we moved on going to the Trollfjord.. It was blistering cold..Felt like I was getting sandblasted by the snow and ice particles. When we got to Trollfjord it was soupy conditions.. snowy foggy and there was a thin sheet of ice on the Fjord.. Our guide was a master of maneuvering the boat to the best locations and a whiz at navigating.. He also told us stories of why its called the Trollfjord.. Good stuff,, We worked our way to another Eagle hangout.. But conditions were not the best for photography.. I did manage to grab a couple shots here.. We started heading back.. Passing a historical Norwegian area which was settled many years ago.. Interesting.. Then we headed back to port.. Visibilty was very low at that point.. But our boat guide threads the needle navigating through all the narrow channels..The weather really hurt the experience.. But in my view it was still well worth it !! Really great for shooting photos..
