Largely established by Alexander the Great in the 2nd century B.C., this ancient city was one of the most prosperous in the Roman Empire, and was covered by sand for centuries until its remnants were discovered in 1806. Head through the ancient city gate and walk around the well-preserved ruins as your guide tells you tales about the city in its heyday. See its arches, theaters, and elegant colonnaded street.

Another great viator trip. Very friendly driver, interesting sights and good quality guides. It’s a packed day so we took food/drinks/snacks with us - there isn’t a lot of time to stop for a meal and we preferred to make the most of the sight seeing. Jerash is spectacular. We had excellent and very knowledgable guides at both the Citadel and Jerash. Excellent day trip. Take comfortable walking shoes for Jerash!

Jerash, questa sconosciuta. Sito archeologico di epoca romana splendidamente conservato. Un concentrato di bellezze. Tre teatri, le due vie lastricate con colonne e templi, l'ippodromo e l'arco di Adriano. Chi più ne ha più ne metta. Imperdibile.... La Pompei giordana soluzioni architettoniche più evolute essendosi sviluppata dopo. L'Agorà ovale....
