I've had a love for architecture my entire life and this tour of the Sydney Opera House was everything I could have asked for and more. Our tour guide was Peter, an architect, who had worked with Peter Hall himself (the architect who took over the 3rd phase of the Sydney Opera House project). And while 75 minutes is not nearly long enough to capture every little detail of this building and its rich history, Peter certainly made every single second worth it with his incredible insider information. From the intricate tile-work decorating the concrete shells of the exterior to the fine craftsmanship of the white birch timber veneer, acoustic reflective wall paneling, and rich magenta wool seats inside of the concert hall. I truly recommend this tour to anyone with even the slightest interest in architecture; it is absolutely worth your time.

Finally achieved an ambition to view the distinctive architecture of this magnificent venue designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon. A controversial concept at the time but now regarded worldwide as a masterpiece of construction and an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007. Our group was blessed to have a wonderful guide with encyclopedic knowledge of the site, architect & structural engineers, design features, composition & construction of the sails, cladding tiles, etc. Too much to remember but a magical tour.
