People travel from all over the world to visit the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains and view the iconic Three Sisters, but this experience is for those with a true sense of adventure, who want to get off the beaten path and into the wilderness. With a like-minded group of explorers, you’ll travel by scenic train from Sydney's CBD to tackle a full-day trek through the Blue Mountains. You’ll explore lush forests and stunning vistas before climbing 300m/1000ft (over 800 steps in total!) to emerge beneath the Three Sisters themselves. You'll walk across a bridge to get up close to the Three Sisters, before returning along the cliff tops. This hike isn't for the faint-hearted. As well as the 800 steps, you'll be walking over 14 km (9 miles) in around 5-7 hours. A high level of fitness is required. But...if you're looking for a true, challenging taste of Australian bushland with local guides, topped with photo opportunities at the iconic Three Sisters - this is the hike for you.

    You'll meet your Emu Trekkers guides and fellow hikers at Central Station before boarding the train for a picturesque journey to the Blue Mountains.

    You'll arrive at Leura Station where you'll have the chance for a takeaway coffee, toilets and to collect any extra snacks for the hike.

  • Leura Cascades, Leura, New South Wales, Australia
    We'll walk to the Three Sisters via the stunning Leura Cascades, before heading deep into the Blue Mountains' forest. Hiking time is determined by the pace of the group with no-one left behind and plenty of breaks for food, water and photos.

    After hiking through the Blue Mountains' wilderness we'll hike up 300m/1000ft (over 800 steps in total!) to emerge right beneath the Three Sisters themselves. We will not rush you up the stairs, but allow you to take them in your own time

  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

I chosed the "Emu Trekkers" for my trip to the Blue Mountains. The two guides were friendly and open-minded. We had a nice day with a great hike. If you decide going on a guided tour make your choice for the "Emu Trekkers"!

Fantastic cause, led by incredible guides. Had a great day hiking with Melissa and Joanne, couldn't recommend the trip and the guides high enough.

Wer Lust auf richtiges Wandern ohne touristische Abzocke hat (und dabei noch etwas Gutes tun will), ist bei den Emu Trekkers genau richtig! Die Wanderung ist zugegebenermaßen konditionell anspruchsvoll. Es müssen sehr viele Stufen hinunter und hinauf gegangen werden. Morgen werde ich sicherlich ordentlich Muskelkater haben. Aber die Landschaft und die Ausblicke fernab der touristischen Massen sind die Anstrengung absolut Wert! Wir waren eine kleine Gruppe mit guter Stimmung und Lust auf Bewegung. Unsere Guides haben sich sehr gut an selbst das langsamste Tempo angepasst. Diesen Tagesausflug kann ich jedem nur wärmstens empfehlen, der nicht nur zu einem Fotospot mit dem Bus fahren möchte!
