This is the third time we have used Pure Azores while on a cruise ship port call in Ponta Delgada. Everything from booking the tour to pick up at the port and drop off at the end went smoothly; plus the price of this tour is very reasonable for all that is included – – especially the delicious and plentiful Cozido lunch, which even includes wine. Joao, our guide, was wonderful. He showed so much enthusiasm and excitement about the places on our itinerary, that it seemed like it was his first time discovering the beauties of his own island. He was also proud to share his culture with us. The highlight of the day was visiting Furnas Lake, and the surrounding areas where we saw bubbling volcanic springs and gas vents up close while walking through the picturesque village, Watching our Cozido stew being uncovered and removed from the volcanic thermal ground after it had been slow cooked for many hours is something not to be missed. A big thank you to Joao for making this day so special for our cruise ship group.
