    Next, the unique “ophthalmology clinic” Miyahara will amaze you with its Hogwarts lookalike interior design. Miyahara was originally an ophthalmology clinic, founded by the Japanese ophthalmologist—Miyahara during Japanese colonization. After the retrocession of Taiwan, the building was taken over by the government, then acquired and renovated by a local pastry company, which transformed this former eye clinic into a retro-style pastry and ice cream joint. Today, Miyahara is widely known for its vintage decorations and various flavors of ice cream. If you are a Harry Potter fan or have a sweet tooth, this place is unmissable.

    Your tour continues with a stop at National Taichung Theater, an opera house designed by the famous Japanese architect—Toyo Ito. Booked this tour expecting to be joining a group. Surprisingly, it turned out to be a private tour.. which was more convenient and time efficient to move around from one site to another. Also, since it was a private tour my tour guide, Vincent Chang, was kind enough to customize the itinerary for me. Vincent was very engaging in conversations about Taiwan's culture and history, and impressively even my own country. It was fun having him as my tour guide. Our driver, Mr. Chao, was also awesome and loved how smooth his driving skills are that I didn't experience motion sickness during the hours long travel from Taipei to Taichung and back. Vincent is highly recommended as a tour guide when you're visiting Taipei, and Edison Travel Service, in general.

The tour hits many of Taichung's most beautiful sights and is a lot of fun. Our guide Joseph was very attentive and made sure we all have the best time of our lives. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
