After World War II, the KMT government renamed the mountain Yangmingshan and built a park here. Yangmingshan National Park is the only park in Taiwan that has volcanic geography and hot springs. It is next to Shamao Mountain and Qixing Mountain with Datun Mountain on the right and Guanyin Mountain in front.

Lin was my driver for the day. He is an excellent driver. For the day, he expertly took me from one site to the next, dropped me off, and we would agree on a return time to the car to drive to the next place. This TST tour is not one with a tour guide who walks you through the sites. It's a driver and a self tour. Lin provided water which was appreciated. The weather was not great on the mountain, so I decided to skip a couple of the planned stops, and Lin was very agreeable to modify the tour. I am very happy with Lin as the driver for the day.

The driver was excellent but we did not have a guide. The natural beauty was amazing but we did not get the full cultural experience as we did have a guide.

Johnson, our driver was super helpful, he really tried his best with our requests. Had a very enjoyable trip with best service! P/s: He even stopped the car for us to see monkeys we see along the way!
