Went to Jingmei markets and tried a number of local eats that I wouldn't have known to order or where it's best to get from (eg. oyster noodles, blood cake, stinky tofu). Other dishes were very good and tasty and overall is a good introduction for those wanting to try Asian street foods. Our host, Peggy, was very informative and friendly, introducing a lot of additional foods that were her own personal and childhood favourites. Go with an open mind and willingness to try everything (no questions asked!) to maximise the experience.

I don't if it was just a lucky day or Peggy is always in form, but the tour we did with her was fantastic. She is funny, lovely and enthusiastic, showed us a lot of different foods and dishes, but she did not force anybody to eat everything. Although Jingmei Night Market is not as famous as Shilin, it is big enough to taste various foods, not that crowded and we really had a good time. Highly recommended if you are not so sure you should walk in a local "restaurant" as you don't know what to eat, or you just want to try some local taste.
