This UNESCO world heritage site, one of the seven wonders of Africa and most incredible ecosystems on Earth, formed millions of years ago in the massive explosion of a volcano, is 610 m deep and covers roughly around 260 square kilometres. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25 000, the crater offers the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. In matter of minutes you will be able to see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area. With a little bit of luck you might catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino through the grass. After lunch you will ascend the steep walls of the crater and head to Arusha an overnight stay.

Tout était parfait !! Depuis notre arrivée jusqu’au départ Meru Slopes nous a dorloté.. Les repas étaient délicieux.. Notre guide Asantaé était trop gentil..il nous a donné plein d’explications sur les animaux.. Nous avons pu voir les animaux bien plus prêt que nous ne l’aurions imaginé… c’était magnifique !!! Meru Slopes est vraiment une agence sérieuse..qui répond rapidement à nos sms.. Le rapport qualité prix est imbattable. Vraiment trop content de notre choix.. Grâce à Meru Slopes nous avons fait un safari inoubliable.

The experience was awesome. Was travelling alone, but could join a group, which was really nice. Have seen a lot of animals and the driver and chef were great

Wonderful tour. I am a solo female traveler, and the entire experience felt very easy and safe. We had an amazing driver (Elias) who was very educated on flora and fauna and happy to share info. And a very good safe driver (important because the terrain is difficult). The food is DELICIOUS. And plentiful. A giant water bottle is provided daily. It’s camping, so if you don’t want to sleep in a tent select the lodge accommodation. I loved the camping though, very fun. Showers are a bit rustic, so make sure you pack soap, a towel and it gets chilly at night and can rain often. We saw The Big 5!!
