8 Days Safari (Lake Manyara /Tarangire/Serengeti/Ngorongoro)

Top Safari, nach unsern Wünschen zusammengestellt mit einer Mischung aus Lodges und Camping. Ein paar Nächte Camping kann ich jedem ans Herz legen, das ist eine einmalige Erfahrung mitten in den Nationalparks!! Unser Guide Samuel war der beste! Wir haben uns super wohl mit ihm gefühlt und er hat die Tour perfektioniert. Jeden Mittag gab es ein sehr leckeres Lunch mit warmen Essen, dazu einen Weinchen. Und auch unsere extra Wünsche, wie ganz früh morgens zum Sonnenaufgang mitten in der Serengeti zu sein, hat Samuel uns erfüllt. Danke für diese tolle Erfahrung!!!

We have been ever so lucky to be able to return to Tanzania for a second time for a safari and we enjoyed this amazing experience at the end of October 2022. Our first trip was 3 years ago with our three children and we loved it so much that we wanted to take my parents-in-law for a trip of a lifetime. Obviously, as we had discovered Meru Slopes, there was no way I would have looked anywhere else for this trip. I knew Geofrey was a very kind and accommodating owner so I just went ahead and contacted him directly through email and through the company’s chat message section. On our first trip, I did not want to carry a huge amount of US dollars with me as I would have had to declare them through customs; and he had agreed for me to do the full wire transfer prior to arrival, which was a relief for me. Therefore, no questions this time around, I contacted Geofrey and I was able to do the wire transfer ahead of our trip when it suited me so all was cleared before we travelled. That was a great piece of mind for me! As our first experience was so great, we had wanted to get the same guide. To our delight, our request was granted and we had the chance to have The Amazing Jacob alongside the great Bugadance as our cook! Jacob is amongst the most amazing guides that can be seen across the Serengeti, seriously!!! He is not only very considerate with the fauna and flora where he never threatens the animals so that they can be seen and approached very closely, but he also has the eye of an eagle where he can spot every tiny sign of an animal across long distances!!!! He was amongst the only two guides to spot the only rhino that day, down in the Ngrongoro!!! We had time to “enjoy it for ourselves” before letting everyone know and then we saw all the other cars in the area coming to where we had just driven off. And along that respect for animals, there is also a great “craftmanship” with his customers too. We immediately feel like friends returning “home away from home”. He is always respectful, professional but also funny, kind, caring and entertaining. Singing along with Jacob and Bugadance while driving on the road, learning Swahili and being immersed in the culture adds an extra touch to this beautiful trip! Dining along the noises of the wildlife while eating home-made cooked food really feels like we are in a dreamy cocoon of paradise. It is also great to see that, compared to other companies, Meru Slopes has its own hotel and can accommodate you there when needed. Do try their local dishes as we were fighting to try them all as they are so tasty! And we were so happy to see that, from before, there had been some changes made where now, we would be eating freshly-cooked food for lunch too during the safari, while we would spot some other companies eating their packed lunch boxes; many looked at us with envy. There would be so many other good things that we could say about this mind-blowing heavenly break but I guess we would just encourage you to go for it and try it for yourself! Nous avons passé 7 jours merveilleux grâce à toute l’équipe du Meru slope. Geofrey, le directeur, est très à l'écoute, disponible et réactif. L’accueil dans l’hôtel d’Arusha est super. Nous avons eu une petite réunion préparatoire avant et une autre après notre safari avec Geofrey qui a répondu à toutes nos interrogations. En compagnie de notre guide JACOBO et notre cuisinier BUGADANCE nous avons parcourus 4 grands parcs magnifiques : parc national de taranguire, parc du lac Manyara, Cratère du Ngorongoro et parc national du Serengeti. La grande expérience de Jacobo, nous a permis de découvrir le meilleur de chaque réserve, nous n'avons pas manqué un seul des « big five » ni un seul des « five ugly » mais bien d’autres animaux aussi, que l’on aurait pu caresser (bon on ne l’a pas fait LOL) . Il a toujours pris le temps de nous expliquer plein de choses sur la faune et la flore, de répondre à nos questions mais aussi de s’arrêter lorsqu’on lui demandait. Ilm a toujours été à notre écoute et très attentionné afin que notre safari se passe au mieux. Le Chef Buga nous a préparé un repas chaud chaque midi et chaque soir, contrairement à d’autres que l’on voyait manger des lunch Box. Très gentil et avenant il nous a donné des cours de Swahili afin de nous familiariser avec les coutumes Tanzaniennes. Les petits déjeuner étaient magique et grandioses : Bravo Buga ! Il y a la possibilité de charger les téléphones dans la jeep et un wifi est aussi à disposition, les camps sont assez spartiates mais l’essentiel est présent. La magie de ces camps est de dormir au milieu des animaux. Il faut prévoir lampe de poche pour les campements et habit chauds pour le cratère, mais tout le matériel pour le camping est fourni. On peut payer en dollar ou en schilling Tz et parfois en euros. Les transferts vers l’aéroport de Kilimandjaro sont gratuits ainsi que les nuits d’hôtel et petit déjeuner à Arusha, donc pas de surprise de dernières minutes. Notre séjour fût vraiment exceptionnel et on en gardera souvenir très longtemps. Encore merci, « Asante sana » Geofrey et je recommande à 100% et les yeux fermés le Meru Slope Tour.
