    This forest is one of the last remaining sanctuaries in the world of the red colobus monkeys. Amazing sky-high trees, mangrove areas, and the Medicine jungle are a tranquil home to rare red Colobus monkeys and even rearer, hard to spot endemic Zanzibar Sykes’ monkey, two endemic antelope species, Zanzibar leopard, blue monkeys, chameleons, mongoose, tree hyrax, bush pigs, civets, 50 different species of butterflies and 40 species of birds. Jozani forest is also a natural pharmacy, an amazing source of natural remedies! Every tree or plant cures something. Your experienced guide will lead you through the network of paths and give you some surprising information on the plant's use. The path will lead you through the mangrove habitat, where you can easily spot some fish and crabs. A trip to Jozani forest will recharge your batteries to proceed to another adventure.

Highly recommend seeing the monkeys of Jozani Forest and booking through Ally with Zanzibar Treasure Tour & Safaris. Last minute decision on a 73 day cruise to do the tour and booking was done quickly and easily with Ally, so easy our group grew to over 20 passengers. Our guide Said was charming, informative and oh so patient with us, giving us more than ample time to watch the animals. Highly recommend using Ally and his company.

Zanzibar Treasure tours took care of us during our entire visit to Zanzibar. Ali, the owner, is one of the kindest men I have ever met. Ali and the drivers: We had issues with the airlines and ended up missing our flight (airline issue - nothing to do with Ali). He came and handled everything in person over and over without ever asking for an extra dime. We would have been lost without him. The tour: We were picked up and taken to this magnificent forest. The monkeys are amazing. This is a DO NOT MISS adventure. I took these pictures with my IPHONE even though we had a great camera. You get so close! GREAT FUN!

Notre guide français était ponctuel, adorable et causant. Nous avons apprécié de voir le meilleur de la forêt de Jozani (singes et mangrove) en sa compagnie, avec les explications nécessaires. Nous n'avons pas voulu participer au folklore à la fin et c'est sans doute pour ça que le tour nous a semblé plus court que prévu mais c'était suffisant pour nous. "Asante"!!
