The route takes you through lush rain forest, where colobus monkeys roam, into heath and moorland, with its many ferns and ericas, until finally reaching the icy caps of the mountain top. The varying altitudes on this 7 day tour as well as a little help from lady luck offers a good environment for acclimatization, enhancing your chances of reaching the summit. Overnights on the Machame Route will be in tents.

I trekked with Snow Africa Adventures, a long established local travel and guiding company based in Arusha, Tanzania. We were easily able to book from Australia, online and via email. The team they provided was the best! Spoke good English, were very professional but also were fun and friendly and shared a lot of knowledge about the climb, vegetation Tanzania- everything. They became my family for 7 days - we had a lot of laughs. We were well equiped and everything was organised and managed perfectly. I couldn't have wished for anything better. I trained well for the climb so most of the hiking was comfortable for me EXCEPT the last 2 hours to the summit which really was a challenge but worth it for the sense of real achievement, the summit glacier, the sunrise and the bragging rights!

After done acclimatization to mountain Meru we started to climb mountain Kilimanjaro via machame routes as our dreams was, this time we did with new team of Rupia Adventure, our guides Emanuel and Meshack and other 11 team were so professional, we did some mountains in Europe but Kilimanjaro was bit challenge, summit day was tough to us, but all 6 people we summited, Jolanda at the office sent us all parking list and told us how to get let for climb the high altitude, the RA team of mount did hike more than 120 time each, up salute for this company, they have good recommendation on many largest travelers platforms, thank you Rupia Adventure for excellent climb Martin, James, Claudio, Ronald, David and Steiner
