This is one of our most recommended tours in Stone Tone where you will take a local traditional private boat to Prison Island then After we will go to Nakupenda Sandbank and have a seafood buffet, relaxing at the calmest waters while enjoying the most beautiful views.

  • Stone Town, Stone Town, Tanzania
    You will pass by Stone Town when at the start and end of this trip, where you will see popular Landmarks including; House of Wonders (Beit Al Ajaib) - National Museum, Sultan Palace, Old Fort, Port of Zanzibar, Forodhani Park, etc.
  • Prison Island - Changuu Private Island, Stone Town, Tanzania
    We will take a boat from Stone Town to Prison Island (30mins ride). After you arrive at the Prison Island, our guide will take you around the Prison Island, where we will start at the Tortoise sanctuary; where you will be able to see Aldabra Giant Tortoise and take pictures with them, then later we will go to the Prison Ruins. Prison Island Tour takes around I hour to 1 hour and a half but depends on the group as it is a private tour, a client can request to stay much longer or leave earlier. Also at Prison Island, you might see some Dik-diks (small antelopes), and Peacocks.

  • Nakupenda Beach Nature Reserve, Stone Town, Tanzania
    After Prison Island, we will take our Private boat to Nakupenda Sandbank (45mins ride). Once we arrive at the sandbank, we will put on the tent and we will prepare fresh Fruit Snacks (Bananas, Mangoes, Watermelon, Pineapple, coconut, etc) while waiting for the seafood buffet which will be prepared on the beach (Fries, Calamari, Lobsters, Octopus, Prawns, and Tuna Fish/ King Fish) Also there will be a cooler-box to keep soft drinks and bottles of waters. We will stay at Sandbank for around3-4 hours, also will depend on the clients. And while at the Sandbank they can swim and relax, the water is so clean, calm, and clear crystal blue. After Nakupenda Sandbank we will return back to StoneTown (30mins ride) and take a bus/ Car back to Hotel

Prison Island top but nakupenda I'm a bit disappointed. It is very beautiful but Mnemba is better. The sand is filled with broken shells. The color of the water is beautiful but the beach is without + The guide was good

From 0 to 10? My answer: 6.5 Not exactely worth the price I paid. Because of a mistake it has not been a private tour, I had another client with me, but I didn’t get upset at all. The description says ”full day” but I suggest to change it since the tour lasts not more than 5-6 hours. That being said: I had enough time to enjoy the visit to Prison Island at my pace, cool to can feed the turtles and caress them :) I enjoyed a lot the time at Nakupenda sandbank: nice and clear water, enough time to make some snorkeling, lay on the sand and eat.

We had a really great time on this trip, we first started with Prison Island where we saw the Giant Tortoise and took pictures with them, and later we went to see the Prison ruins. After tour around the Prison Island, we went to the Sandbank, it was a 45mins boat ride from the prison Island, the Sandbank was so huge, we had a great seafood buffet at the Sandbank, with nice fresh fruits. I recommend this trip.
