Ahmed picked us up at the hotel on time and took us to the dock where we took a small boat out to Prison Island. He was very friendly and provided great information and was willing to answer our questions. The boat trip to Prison island is about 20 minutes and we spent around one hour on Prison Island seeing the ruins and the giant tortoises. We then took the boat back to Unguja where he handed us off to Ali for the StoneTown tour. Ali gave us an excellent tour of Stone Town. He is clearly knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about the history. We had a great time.

Great experience. However the guide was in a hurry and tried to rush us for the Prison Island part. He was knowledgeable though about Stone Town and after a discussion on his deliverables as per the listing did a good job.

Said is very knowledgeable about Stone Town. Showed me all the places of interest. Ali took me to Prison Island and was great. We even saw some turtles mating ????
