About Zanzibar island has many villages where people live their casual life. Eine tolle Tour mit einem sehr kompetenten Guide. Wir konnten einen Einblick in das Leben der einheimischen erhalten und durften viel über den aktuellen und vergangenen Lebensstil erfahren. Einer der besten Touren. Die Menschen waren sehr freundlich und haben sich Zeit für alle Fragen genommen und vieles ausführlich erklärt. Das Essen war hervorragend. Wir können es nur empfehlen.

Very poor. The hospital was more of a family planning clinic/maternity type check up clinic. Gentleman taking me round expected a donation. I had already paid a lot of money for this tour being a solo traveller. Witch doctor was a man sitting in a partly build house full of rhubbish. Parts of tour was enjoyable it just was not value for money.

I am glad I got to see a bit of everyday life in Zanzibar! I especially enjoyed the witch doctor visit (her herbal stream actually did help my chronic headache). The home cooked lunch was nice too. Abdul the guide lives in the village and is super chill and answered all my questions. Being some cash to donate/tip people in the village for their time. Only the doctor at the hospital was at all pushy about it (he was very pushy actually), no one else even asked. IMO as a foreigner visiting here we are in a position of privilege and should redistribute some of that privilege where we can, especially when people are taking the time to show us their life.
