Looking for the biggest and best day trip out of Hobart? Join our small group road trip across Tasmania and visit one of the worlds most beautiful locations - Dove Lake and Cradle Mountain. Starting early, we offer a safe, fun, efficient full day that is focused just on Cradle Mountain. No extra accommodation required - just a day pack. It is a lovely drive through the heart of Tasmania, passing through charming villages, farmlands, forest, by Mountains, around lakes and over rivers. you will see so much of Tasmania in one day, with just the right amount of commentary along the way, not too much, and plenty of time to chill. We will also guide you inside Cradle Mountain NP to make the most of our time there - up to 5 hours, a really good amount of time to explore, hike, climb, walk, photograph, sit, breathe, enjoy.     Our guests will enjoy up to five hours inside Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park - at the Cradle Mountain / Dove Lake end. This time will go quickly as either independently, or with your Driver/Guide, you will walk the trails, hike up to high lookouts, walk around Dove Lake, visit the Interpretation Centre or just sit down and soak up the natural beauty (or a comfy chair by the fire at Cradle Mountain Lodge.) This "Big Day Out" is for lovers of nature who want to access somewhere remote but without the costs and extra packing associated with accommodation, overnight stays.

WOW. This a great day trip from Hobart. The drive was great. Sam our tour guide and owner of the business was very friendly Stops on the way there and on return made the trip seem shorter. Stops for breakfast and Dinner were excellent. This is the only day trip from Hobart to Cradle Mountain and it was so enjoyable. I highly recommend this day with Derwent Experience.

I am from Germany and I visited my big family in Sydney for a month. So my schedule was fully packed and planned till the last minute. I also planned a tour to Tasmania and where I really wanted to go was Cradle Mountain. So I was looking the tours up from Hobart, but I couldn't find a tour from and back to Hobart at all. But finally I found the day tour of The Derwent Experience. I had to change my whole schedule for this trip and I upset few people, but I am telling you it was all worth it!!!!! Sam from The Derwent Experience is great and the experience climbing up this mountain was incredible! Sam picked us up from our hotel, we were a nice small group and the tour bus is very comfortable. Everything is well planned and the stops for breakfast and dinner are very nice! Sam came with us to climb the mountain he pushed us through up to the top! It was Amazing!!!!! thank you so much Sam, this day will always be one of my highlights in my life!
