The Port Arthur Historic Site covers 100 acres of gardens and grounds, with more than 30 historic buildings and ruins to explore. We recommend you purchase your tickets online in advance. All entry passes are valid for two consecutive days and include a harbour cruise, a self-guided audio experience and complimentary site talks throughout the day.

    As a family (2 adults, 2 kids (12 &10)) we really enjoyed our day at Port Arthur and it was a great learning experience for us all. There is so much to see (including the 20 minute cruise) that it would be best done over two days. Unfortunately we only had one, but got there at opening and left just after 4pm so packed in as much as we could. It's history is definitely an eye opening experience and it is at times hard to reconcile how hard life must have been with the beautiful surroundings. We also made sure to spend some time and pay our respects at the beautifully poignant memorial to those that lost their lives in 1996.

    Visited Port Arthur, a very amazing place so very interesting and informative, We were lucky enough to have Linton as our shuttle buggy driver. He was so helpful and informative, he went above and beyond to help us and his knowledge or the site was amazing. All thanks to Linton,

    The highlight for us was the main house up on the hill. Huge thanks to Josh who had so much knowledge and very professional & friendly.
