You'll be collected in a private vehicle for the 1.5 hour trip to Iximche. There, our local guide will explain the lifestyle of the Mayans while you explore the museum and grounds. Perhaps you'll even see a Mayan spiritual ceremony. This site was the first Spanish capital of Guatemala and you'll learn about the lifestyle of the people who lived there. It is a post-classic site established in 1465 and offers a beautiful day out. The full experience is 5-6 hours round-trip. Please specify your pickup location when booking.

    You will be brought direct to the archaeological site for a private tour. Here we will have a local guide with Mayan heritage explain everything we see in the museum at this national park. This site was the first Spanish capital of Guatemala and its beautiful park-like setting is a must-see to learn about the lifestyle of the Mayan governors. There is also a good chance you may catch a Mayan spiritual ceremony taking place on these sacred grounds! The tour takes around 1.5 hours total.

  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

1 1/2 hour drive from Antigua , very small museum( bring your translator app) as it’s all in Spanish, we had a great guide who spoke English but was Mayan so the history was thru his eyes, one problem ( not. His fault). We arrived and had to wait 20 minutes for a group to join ours (5), when they arrived 20 of them), they were French Canadians who denied speaking English, but spoke a bit. Of Spanish, our guide was told he had to do tour with them first,. We had to wait one hour for our guide to. Return to us, it worked out well but a bit annoying, but our tour was just with 5 so it was fine,

Incredible source of knowledge, our driver to the ruins was so kind and informative, very safe. Our tour guide had so much knowledge and offered information in English or Spanish which was wonderful. We were able to respectfully view a Mayan ceremony from afar and learn about the incredible preservation work of the indigenous Mayans living in the pueblos today.
