Full Day Tour of Santa Cruz and San Cristóbal de La Laguna

We had a great day visiting Santa Cruz, San Cristobal La Laguna and Taganana. We only had an hour stop in Santa Cruz which was disappointing as we would’ve liked a bit more time to explore. Lovely place but very built up as you would expect. We went from there to San Cristobal La Laguna which is an amazing place steeped in history. We did a fair bit of walking there so this would be something to consider for anyone with mobility issues. It’s all flat but we covered a lot of ground although we stopped regularly to listen to the tour guide. From there we went on to Taganana where lunch was available for anyone that wanted it (€15 per person for 3 courses)in a lovely little restaurant. Some scary roads though getting up there but some amazing views on the way. We were a bit disappointed with the amount of time we had in Santa Cruz as we really didn’t have time to see much. Whilst the views up to Taganana were amazing, in my opinion it took up too much time in the day to drive up there just for lunch. Really enjoyed the trip though and the tour guide was very informative. The only downside being the amount of time spent on the bus.

Excellent excursion we really enjoyed it. Santa Cruz was lovely although it’s very built up and very busy. We only spent an hour there and then moved on to La Laguna which was beautiful. The place has so much history and the tour guide was very thorough. We did a fair bit of walking on that stop but it’s such a beautiful place we didn’t really notice the distance. We then went on to Taganana, great views but some scary roads ????‍♀️ narrow roads and plenty of tight bends, certainly had my nerves on edge. A great day out and the places were well worth a visit. The only downside, if there is one is all the time spent on the bus,

Early pick up from front of our hotel, (time stated on ticket 7-40-bus arrived at our hotel 8:05) several other pick ups along the way, then hour later first visit stop Santa Cruz for 1 hour free to do as you please, shopping/coffee etc, next stop was a guided tour through streets of La Laguna and around the historic monasteries/palm streets and local food market, we managed a drink and snack here, finally we stopped for lunch up in the high mountainous forests of Taganana, we were offered a 3 course lunch of potato soup, choice of fish or meat with salad and potatoes followed by a type of crème caramel dessert with local red & white wine + bottle of water per table (of 10 seats) for 15 euros a head. Our guide was very talented in German language as well as others, we did struggle to understand the English with a German accent-but got by and got the gist of what we were being told, all in all stunning views, plenty of stops, very comfortable coach with a very competent driver! Well done!!!
