Jose was an excellent tour guide! I would highly recommend taking a tour of the Hill Country. The LBJ activities and tours were interesting and informative. Although he's been giving tours for years, Jose has a palpable passion for LBJ history and keeps you engaged. Lukenbach is a fantastic stop with a welcoming country atmosphere. We stopped in Fredricksburg for lunch; it's an adorable German town with spots to eat and shop. Even though it was only two of us, Grey Line Tours still honored our tickets and gave us a full day private tour. If you have a free day in Austin, I highly recommend going to the Hill Country with the Grey Line Tours. Thank you Jose for a great day.

Was a full tour- 11 of us- Loretta our guide said this was the first full tour she's had as this tour has had to be cancelled for lack of guest recently. Lots of drive time Very interesting to visit LBJ childhood home and his schoolhouse was very cool. Ranch quite disappointing as no access, just saw outside of his place and outside of several buildings and gift shop. Long way to go for very little Fredericksburg was a nice town with nice shops and restaurants- loved the Fredericksburg brewing company and Nimitz facility. Could easily have skipped the wine shop stop and extended our stay in Luckenbach, the ghost town where they had live musicians playing and it was a hoot. As it was we ran into construction traffic on the way back and it ended up being a 12 hour day

The tour was in a small van which was nice. The stop at the visitor center at Johnson City was too short and we did not see much of LBJs boyhood home. The ranch drive through was good and even though we could not go inside the house, we were able to walk around the grounds and get a sense of the place. Way too much time in Fredericksburg unless you spent the whole time in the Nimitz museum.smy restaurants were closed the day we visited. The uninhabited town was a novelty but not sure it was worth a stop. The visit to the winery was ok
