I wanted to do a motorcycle tour in Pattaya while I was there. I did some research and found Big Bike Touring Co. It's a fairly new company so there weren't a lot of reviews. I reached out be email, and the owner, Andy responded quickly. He emailed back and forth a few times and Andy always answered my questions and responded quickly.
I arrived in Pattaya and decided to do the skills camp. I was given Bom as an instructor. I have to say that the skills camp exceeded my expectations. I've taken two different motorcycle courses totaling four days worth of training. I can honestly say I learned more in one morning from Bom then I did in the four days of other training.
Bom is good at explaining and has lots of tricks for getting you to ride better. We started on the BMW 800's and worked on slow speed maneuvering. We then rode around the closed track area and Bom observed me and made tweaks to my riding. We spent the rest of the day riding around the streets and trails and had a blast.
We did more of the same the next day and I continued to improve my skills. The third day I wanted to work on my dirt skills so we switched to the Honda CRF's and rode some dirt. Once again Bom turned out to be a great instructor and we worked on turning, counterbalancing and riding in sand.
I've been on other tours and courses and this was by far the best. The motorcycles are new and well maintained. Bom made sure I was comfortable with wherever we were riding and that I wasn't exceeding my skills. The other great thing is that Big Bike Touring is a one stop shop for anything moto related. You can ride street, adventure, dirt or track. You can even mix it up and do it all.
The icing on the cake was the Route 66 diner which is attached and also owned by Andy. I love Thai food but after several weeks I start to crave a good burger. The Route 66 has some amazing classic American diner food. While I was there I had a cheeseburger, a club sandwhich and biscuits and gravy. All good. I just ended my tour a couple days ago but am already saving money and planning my next trip back to Big Bike Touring.
