This is one of the grandest and most impressive wooden structures I've ever seen in my life! It looks like a temple, but it's actually a museum. Its construction began in 1981 and is still ongoing. The whole place is full of carvings, particularly of statues of both Hindu and Buddhist inspiration. Access and guided tours are by language group. Entrance fee is 500 Baht per head, but I heard that it costs less if you buy your ticket online. Aside from the museum itself, there's also a mini-zoo in the compound, a restaurant, a place where you can ride elephants, etc.
