My daughter and I arrived at the Delft factory bedraggled and cold from a long walk from the market square, made so because a bridge was out and also due to our own unfortunate directional decisions. We were greeted warmly by Scot and told that the staff would arrange our high tea to begin sooner than our reservation time so that we could warm up and get comfortable. We had the most wonderful time and spent the entire afternoon having a gorgeous tea, touring the museum and factory with the provided audio tour, and buying many things in the gift shop! There were only two others visiting the museum, so we were able to walk along the factory floor and ask as many questions as we could think of for the master painter, poor man. ;-) I can only imagine how crowded it gets in the summer when the tour buses pull up, but we had a glorious time reading and seeing every little thing by ourselves. The afternoon tea was amazing, and they made an entirely different lactose-free tier of food for me, which was much appreciated. As we were leaving, Scot showed us historical photos of the city of Delft and directed us to a shorter and very enjoyable walk back to the train station, with the directions of "just follow the bikes". We were successful in doing just that! A big thanks to the staff of the museum for this hospitality!
