Calling all curd nerds and turophiles – yep there’s a word for your love of cheese – Manchester’s finest cheeses are being wrapped up into one 2 hour walking tour! You have not truly explored Manchester until you tour as a turophile. Get involved in Manchester’s first and grate-est cheese crawl! The crawl is 2 hours of non stop in-curd-edible action. There will be a cheese whizz quiz and of course a bit of wine. The crawl will be packed full of the finest of Manchester’s brie-liant cheeses, with very mature fun facts, and the chance to heckle your quizmaster with your favourite cheese puns that will have your group crumbling faster than a wensleydale. Meanwhile you’ll feta believe you’ll learn a bit about cheese making, and be introduced to some cheese mongers and shops you just camembert to stay away from. It’s a whole different kind of ‘cultured’.

The tour was great. We had mini baby Mel as our guide and she was very welcoming, entertaining and accommodating. Get ready for a very interactive food tour and think of some cheesy puns in advance, trust me, it helps.

I'm really sorry to say this didn't meet expectations. I'd hope to meet cheesemongers as per advert, but didn't meet any. The cheese itself was served from a take away tub from the guides bag a couple times and for the most part we stood outside venues with the exception of going to Pupa, which was very good. The guide was OK and had good knowledge, but didn't seem to like having a "quieter" group and referenced this multiple times which made us feel uncomfortable. I just expected a better experience for the price.

A walk around some foodie outlets in a smallish area of Manchester with a fun, sociable element. The excellent guide, Matt, points out some interesting places along the way, and there are quiz questions to answer, which really breaks the ice. And , of course, the cheese! We had several tasting sessions, including some biscuits and condiments, plus in 2 venues, a matching wine! I would say this amounts to a light lunch in the end!
