Calling all curd nerds and turophiles – yep there’s a word for your love of cheese – Manchester’s finest cheeses are being wrapped up into one 2 hour walking tour! You have not truly explored Manchester until you tour as a turophile. Get involved in Manchester’s first and grate-est cheese crawl! The crawl is 2 hours of non stop in-curd-edible action. There will be a cheese whizz quiz and of course a bit of wine. The crawl will be packed full of the finest of Manchester’s brie-liant cheeses, with very mature fun facts, and the chance to heckle your quizmaster with your favourite cheese puns that will have your group crumbling faster than a wensleydale. Meanwhile you’ll feta believe you’ll learn a bit about cheese making, and be introduced to some cheese mongers and shops you just camembert to stay away from. It’s a whole different kind of ‘cultured’.

Fantastic afternoon with Mel who was very knowledgeable, entertaining and adept at handling a crowd of cheese lovers. We were kept engaged throughout and enjoyed seeing our local city through a different perspective and reading and learning about different cheeses, while supporting excellent local businesses.

My family and I attended the tour as a present for my husband’s birthday and we so enjoyed it. Our guide Mark was really friendly and knowledgable, encouraging participation but without making anyone feel awkward. The cheese and wine was delicious and the cheese puns plentiful, just make sure you go with an empty stomach!

The tour was a lovely way to spend a few hours in Manchester. Mel the guide was prompt, bubbly, informed and fun. The tour took us to a few places I hadn't been or experienced in Manchester before and I was grateful for that. We had some games, a quiz, lots of fun baked in and some lovely cheeses, of course. We met some very nice people, learned some new things about cheese and Manchester and would rate the tour very highly! The only thing I'd suggest/ request is even more cheese.
