Lawrence of Babylon Tours took us on a wonderful 2 1/2 hour tour of the gallery. With over 2400 works of art and only two working feet, roaming the gallery would have been daunting and exhausting. Lawrence boiled the collection down to about 30 outstanding pieces for which he supplied illuminating context and interpretation. I know a thing or two, but Lawrence taught me plenty I didn’t. He was very knowledgeable about the gallery as a whole, locating the Caravaggios and a few other personal favorites that weren’t on the tour. A highly enjoyable afternoon!

Steph is the best! What could be better than touring the National Gallery with an Art History major?! Plus, she is engaging, friendly, and tells wonderful stories. She very skillfully selected a variety of things to show us, telling an interesting and memorable story and helping us to learn and take something away from each picture we saw together. She held the interest of adults and small children, what a wonderful, kind person! Highly recommend Steph and this tour!

The museum itself is amazingly beautiful and worth seeing. However, our tour guide Stephanie K made it especially memorable with her enthusiasm and passion for the art world. Her knowledge guided us to a better understanding and appreciation for the art, we were experiencing it and not simply viewing it.
