    Founded in 1976, The Miami Design Preservation League has proudly offered guided walking tours of The Art Deco District for over 40 years. All Proceeds go towards supporting preservation. Visitors are introduced to the history, architecture, and preservation efforts of Miami Beach. Tour ticket includes free admission to the Art Deco Museum and Gift Shop. There are a limited amount of tickets available for each tour, so early bookings are encouraged . Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure for check-in.

This tour and the organization that runs it are both excellent, extraordinary in fact. In a place that can feel totally superficial and absurd at times, this is the tonic that will make everyone and anyone love South Beach. The tour is steeped in history and culture and architecture--and you will see and hear and learn a lot! Our guide was brilliant and funny, and there were about 10 people on the tour from all over the world. We were given earphones and a device so we could hear the guide perfectly no matter where we were standing. The tour is also associated with the Art Deco museum on South Beach--and you should plan to spend time there too. There is also a good gift shop within the museum there featuring jewelry, objects, books, posters, etc., etc., all in art deco style. Everyone is nice, friendly, and knowledgeable about all of the wonderful design in this place. It is worth every cent and every minute of your time. Without it I cannot imagine what I would have thought of SOBE--but now I have been informed about how fascinating and how cool it really is! Sign up for this tour!
