The Postal Museum tells the story of postal communication and its impact on a global society. At the museum, five centuries of extraordinary communications history are brought to life, as seen through the eyes of the iconic postal service. A visit to the museum includes family-friendly and interactive exhibitions and an immersive ride on Mail Rail, London’s secret Post Office underground railway.

    Having pre booked online we visited on Easter Sunday. A friendly greeting at Reception from where we were directed down to the Mail Train. Staff checking visitors in and securing all onboard. A confined space but with a clear overhead cover. The train stops periodically for information and displays. Then it is into an interactive displays on how post was moved in recent decades and the technology involved. Over the road the Museum has colourful and well presented displays on the History of mail and the evolution of delivery. Lots of innovative engagement with displays for All ages. Buggy park and play room. There is a Cafe indoors and outside with a living Plant Wall cleverly inserted with Post Boxes. Our ticket entitles us to return within 12 months ( but does not include the Mail Train) This is a Museum where our unique Postal Heritage is preserved and the people who ran it efficiently are celebrated.

    Just back from a visit and its great,from someone who is a postie it was very interesting,its lovely to see that its as it was when it closed in 2003,the information is great,the staff are very informative,over a great place to visit.

    Partner is a postman hence the visit to this great little museum, went on the rail mail train first, very interesting to see how the mail was sorted underground from years ago! Lots of interactive displays in the museum, again all very interesting and informative. Both attractions have a gift shop selling a good range, nice little cafe too with outside seating.
