Having pre booked online we visited on Easter Sunday. A friendly greeting at Reception from where we were directed down to the Mail Train. Staff checking visitors in and securing all onboard. A confined space but with a clear overhead cover.
The train stops periodically for information and displays. Then it is into an interactive displays on how post was moved in recent decades and the technology involved.
Over the road the Museum has colourful and well presented displays on the History of mail and the evolution of delivery.
Lots of innovative engagement with displays for All ages. Buggy park and play room. There is a Cafe indoors and outside with a living Plant Wall cleverly inserted with Post Boxes. Our ticket entitles us to return within 12 months ( but does not include the Mail Train)
This is a Museum where our unique Postal Heritage is preserved and the people who ran it efficiently are celebrated.
