Completed in 1788, the series of chambers were used to house taverns and as storage space for illicit material, including the bodies of people killed by serial killers Burke and Hare for their medical experiments. Journey through over 400 years of history and hear terrifying true tales of hangings, torture, murders and witchcraft. This was a great tour! Our tour guide, “the big guy,” was funny and interesting. He took us around the city to some key locations, educated us while entertaining the whole time. It was really fun!

Maggie did a great job telling the stories and managing the tour. My favorite part was the vaults and the Grey Friars Kirkyard.
