Tikal, Guatemala Tikal National Park encompasses 575 square kilometres of jungle and thousands of ruined structures.
The central part of the ancient city alone contains 3,000 buildings and covers about 16 square kilometers.
Tikal is also part of the one-million-hectare Maya Biosphere Reserve created in 1990 to protect the dense forests of the Peten, which started to disappear at an alarming rate due to population pressures, illegal logging and slash-and-burn agricultural practices.
Archeologists estimate that the Maya settled in the area now known as Tikal in about 900 BC.

FANTASTIC experience. All punctual, correct, done perfectly!! The drivers, excellent. Our guide, Melvin, was super friendly, experienced, helpful and polite. Although it is a long day, it can be done perfectly and is NOT as difficult to force as they say. I highly recommend it! Take this EXCLUSIVE tour that allows you to manage your times, take care of you until the last minute. Flowers are worth a few hours, Tikal will leave you speechless. More time is not necessary.

Tikal is simply amazing. It was extraordinary arriving at 4:30 am and walking the tracks when it was dark, hearing the howler monkeys. The sun rise is often a no-show, and honestly, I'm not sure if it is really worth it.
However, the Tikal itself is incredible. We were fortunate enough to have a guide (Lloyd) who took us around the back ways, avoiding crowds, and saving the most jaw-dropping views until last.

The plan went perfectly. We had transfers from the hotel to the airport, before sending us tickets, contact from previous days with the people who were going to be our guides. The guide in tikal used a lot of patience given that we were with a baby and the food inside tikal was excellent. The feedback I have is positive, everyone.
