    Tikal National Park encompasses 575 square kilometres of jungle and thousands of ruined structures. The central part of the ancient city alone contains 3,000 buildings and covers about 16 square kilometers. Tikal is also part of the one-million-hectare Maya Biosphere Reserve created in 1990 to protect the dense forests of the Peten, which started to disappear at an alarming rate due to population pressures, illegal logging and slash-and-burn agricultural practices. Archeologists estimate that the Maya settled in the area now known as Tikal in about 900 BC.

Tour very well organized. Amazing experience. Enough time to climb the temples, which are allowed. Great explanation of the guide and good lunch at the end. Well, the only complaint was that the guide spoke all the time in English. As far as I understand, I bought a tour where I chose Spanish. Only after many hours of his speaking English, he asked if everyone understood. The agency needs to guide the guides that if there was an option to buy the tour in Spanish, the tour must be done in the languages that were purchased. This is already common in Europe when buying a tour. The guide does not ask and already makes the explanations in 3 or 4 languages, respecting the choice of the tourist at the time of purchase. In Guatemala, as much as it is said that the tour is in English and Spanish, the guides start the tour only in English, without respect that purchased in Spanish. It is only after a long time that they ask if they understand. They need to improve this to further evolve in tourism.

Fantastic tour, comprehensive visiting of all the most important monuments, walks through the jungle, sightings of tucanoes, coatis, Pizotes, peacocks, foxes, monkeys, oropendulas and even a jaguar (they are shy), ask for Melvin as a guide he is truly a dedicated knowledgeable very nice guide who provides historical information as you walk around. This was the best of the trip to Guatemala!

I booked in advance from the website 4 tours for the trip with my girlfriend The first was ascent of the Acatenango volcano. We were offered what we needed to be more comfortable as jackets and larger bag. The ascent was with a Guide for the two of us, his name is Lucas and he is the best who was also in charge of feeding with his assistant Pedro. He offered us ascent in the evening to the volcano of fire for an additional and although it cost us Lucas always encouraged us and we managed to arrive. The next day ascent to see sunrise in Acatenango. Important that the accommodation in the base camp is not shared, it was a tent for us with sleeping bag Comfortable transportation to Antigua. The other 3 tours were from Flores. Blue crater, sunrise in Tikal and sunset in Yaxha with the plus of Topoxte. Melvin and Alex excellent guides, wait for you to take photos, explain everything in detail, give you your time, walk at your own pace and always look for less crowded spaces to take the best photos and enjoy. Even in blue crater we were taken to a water birth where only my girlfriend and I were. Just congratulate and recommend them. I know it can be more expensive than other agencies but with Tikalgo you pay convenience for good vehicles, you pay certified guides who are patient and who know and do their job well, you pay to be assured of food during the tour and you pay not to worry about paying tickets for each site you visit.
