This full day tour (~12 hours) includes pick up and drop off at your accommodation in Timisoara and includes 4 sights. It is mainly a historical tour (you'll here the history of Romania presented chronologically), but also we'll also talk about Romania nowadays. We'll cross the Carpathian Mountains twice admiring beautiful landscapes and we'll enjoy a traditional Romanian lunch in one of the local restaurants next to Corvin Castle.

    We'll pick you up around 8 AM from your accommodation in Timisoara. We talk shortly about the schedule of the day and we start driving East, towards Transylvania. We cross the Carpathian Mountains, just like Romans did 2000 years ago and we arrive in Transylvania.
  • Sarmizegetusa 337415, Roemenië
    First, we visit Sarmizetetusa Ulpia Traiana, the the new capital city of Dacia province, built here by the Romans, right after the conquest.
  • Densus, Densus, Romania
    Then we go and visit Densus, a very old church built with "recycled" materials from the roman city.
  • Hunedoara, Hunedoara, Romania
    we drive some more, crossing some picturesque hills and we arrive in Hunedoara.
  • Curtea Corvineștilor nr. 1-3, Hunedoara 331141, Roemenië
    We have lunch in a nice restaurant (not included in the price) and we enter Corvins' Castle. The visit will take us almost one hour and we'll see most of the hotel.
  • Fortress of Deva, Deva, Romania
    Last visit is Deva Fortress: we can use a cable car or we can drive and then walk to the top of the 160 meters hill to see the ruins of a middle age castle. The view from the top of the hill is breathtaking. 
  • Timisoara, Timisoara, Romania
    We drive back to crossing again the Carpathians and we  arrive in Timisoara around 8 PM.

This tour was the highlight of my trip to Romania. I had such a great time seeing and learning about Romania’s history. My tour guide was Sergiu, it was a personal tour and I had a blast getting to know him. He is so smart and knowledgeable about Romania. And very passionate about tourism as an economic driver for the country. Highly highly recommend!!!!!

Op 19 november 2022 een dagtrip geboekt met Dan naar Transsylvanië. Dit was zeker de moeite waard en we hebben een adembenemend rit ervaren door Transsylvanië. Voor mij was de Carvin Castle de mees memorabel moment geweest om dit prachtige kasteel te kunnen bewonderen. Dan is zeker gepassioneerd in zijn werk en maakt het van deze lange dag een zeker geslaagde uitje. Als je ooit Roemenië bezoekt, is deze trip zeker de moeite waard.

's woensdags hadden we met deze gids een rondleiding door Timisoara. Omdat de gids zo goed was, vroegen we of hij ons ook een rondleiding buiten Timisoara kaon geven. Hij stelde een dagtocht naar Transylvania voor en ook deze uitstap was super geörganiseerd. We zagen mooie plekken, waar niet alleen de schoonheid van de omgeving getoond wordt, maar ook alles wat je ziet in zijn context geplaatst wordt. Als ik in de buurt ben, weet ik alvast wie ik aan zijn jas trek voor een uitstap: Timisoara City Tours!!!! PS: indien nodig kan er ook wifi voorzien worden wanneer je in de auto zit.
