Het a tithe ar is durres Albanië is niet bijster interessant. Temeer omdat een heel groot gedeelte nog onder de grond ligt.

La sua origine si deve all’Imperatore Traiano che nel II secolo fece costruire quello che sarebbe stato più grande anfiteatro dei Balcani, con una capienza di 20 mila persone. Purtroppo la sua gloria finì intorno al 350 d.C, quando un violento terremoto ne distrusse buona parte, rendendolo inservibile. Oggi all’interno si possono visitare, oltre ai gradoni esterni, i corridoi sotterranei, una fonte battesimale e una meravigliosa cappella paleocristiana risalente al IV secolo.
