Synagogue of Saint Mary the White, Toledo, Spain .This Mudéjar construction was built in 1180. It has five naves separated by pillars supporting horseshoe arches. In the 15th century it was converted into a church, although today it is simply a monument which is open to visitors. It has a coffered wooden ceiling, Plateresque altars and an altarpiece by the school of Berruguete. 40 minutes
Iglesia de San Ildefonso Jesuitas, Toledo, Spain The Iglesia de San Ildefonso is a Baroque style church located in the center of the historic city of Toledo, in Castile-La Mancha, Spain. It is also known as the Jesuit church and is consecrated to Saint Ildefonso of Toledo, patron of the city and Father of the Church. Its construction took more than 100 years. Work began in 1629 on lands acquired by the Jesuits of Toledo in 1569. The location hosted the houses of Juan Hurtado de Mendoza Rojas y Guzmán, count of Orgaz.[1] It was the birthplace of Saint Ildefonsus. Pedro and Estefanía Manrique, high Castilian nobility's members, were the promoters of the erection of the temple.

Iglesia de Santo Tome, Toledo, Spain .The parish church must have been founded after the Christian Reconquista of the city by Alfonso VI in 1085, as the first news that we have of its existence is from 1142. From the first Mudejar building, it has kept the large multifoil arch superimposed upon the main arch that separates the main nave from the presbytery together with the sturdy buttresses of this part of the nave and a small trefoil arch on a brick frieze arranged in Mudejar style that survives in the high part in what used to be the semicircular sanctuary of the original single nave church. 40 minutes
Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, Toledo, Spain This monastery was founded by King Ferdinand II of Aragon and Queen Isabella I of Castile to commemorate both the birth of their son, Prince John, and their victory at the Battle of Toro (1476) over the army of Afonso V of Portugal.
Toledo was chosen as the site for building the monastery due to its central geographic location and because it had been the capital of the ancient Visigoth kingdom, symbolically reconstituted by Isabella and Ferdinand with the restoration of the lost unity of Spain, through the union of Castile with Aragon. 60 minutes
Mosque of Christ of the Light, Toledo, Spain The Mosque of Cristo de la Luz is a former mosque in Toledo, Spain. It is the one of the ten that existed in the city during the Moorish period. The edifice was then known as Mezquita Bab-al-Mardum, deriving its name from the city gate Bab al-Mardum. It is located near the Puerta del Sol, in an area of the city once called Medina where wealthy Muslims used to live. 40 minutes
Iglesia del Salvador, Toledo, Spain Although the church is small, it is an exceptional building, because it was the site of 4 successive constructions, one on other and so on, It's a 12th-century church built on an 11th-century Taifa mosque, which was an expansion of a 9th-century Umayyad mosque and in turn on a Visigothic religious building. Also these civilizations reused 2nd-century Roman elements. 30 minutes

My family and I had already taken the Avila/Segovia tour with this company, and I must say I honestly preferred this one more!
Pick up was the same as the other tour, so we met at the meeting point at 8:45 am then got picked up by the tour bus at 9:00 am, where it took about an hour to reach Toledo. When we got there, it was was a short hike to the top, but there were escalators so bless! Christina was once again the tour guide and led us to the main town square, Plaza de Zocodover, which would act as our meeting point when we all met again at 3:30 pm. Because this was a "do at your own pace" tour, we had free reign, meaning we were able to check out the monuments but still had time to do some shopping. I really can't complain about that!
