On this tour we feel and experience the volcanic origins of the Island in Furnas, a magical place. We start by visiting the Caldeiras da Lagoa das Furnas (Furnas Lake Calderas), a place where we cook the famous “cozido das Furnas” (a very special meal cooked only with the steam of the Earth) and continue with a soft walk that crosses a stream and circles the lakeside. During this walk we have the opportunity to appreciate a variety of endemic flora species. - Nature guide - visit to the lake - Visit to Terra Nostra botanical garden. You are invited to go for a dip in an iron-rich hot water swimming pool that has a temperature of 35-40ºC (95-104°F), a relaxing experience. - Lunch (Cozido) - Visit to the fumaroles - Visit to Gorreana tea factory - Pick up & drop off in Ponta Delgada - Insurance (personal accident & liability)

Our certified guide will explain about Vila Franca do Campo Islet is one of the most beautiful places to swim around São Miguel Island. It is known as the “princess ring” for its own particular circular shape. In that salty water, you can simply enjoy the fauna and flora of this unique place.

Enchanted gardens, clear view, very knowledgeable guide ( Maria), comfortable air conditioning van. You won't be disappointed. Bring your bathing suit.. NOT WHITE OR LIGHT COLOURED. The orange water stains anything light.

We had an amazing time despite the fog and heavy rain. Our guide Felipe was very knowledgeable. The lunch was delicious. The only disappointment (not the guide’s fault) was the bathing experience at Terra Nostra. They are currently refurbishing and some areas are closed and they didn’t have a suitable changing room area. Overall a fantastic worthwhile experience.
