    Your tour will begin just in front of the main entrance, where you will be given a short introduction to the history of the Tower of London before being led in to meet the Beefeater dedicated to your small group. From stories of traitorous plots to tales of royal scandal, the guards of the Tower of London will bring this attraction to life before your eyes. Your small group will also enable you plenty of chances to ask questions and interact directly with the Beefeater as they lead you through this ancient fortress. After your tour, continue to discover the Tower at your leisure including a visit to the infamous Bloody Tower, a tour of the old Royal Mint, or a visit to the home of the stunning Crown Jewels. Because of our early morning start time, you will be among the first visitors into the Tower and will have the opportunity to explore without the usual large crowds. Meeting a Beefeater was interesting but certainly not worth the price. After his 15 minute talk, we were on our own for both The Tower of London and the Crown Jewels! Really, what did we pay for?

While I give this event a five star rating, it is only because of the Beefeater Warden’s portion of the tour. The Beefeater did a terrific job and made it a wonderful event. He was knowledgeable, funny, informative and highly engaged. However, and while I have never done this before, I’d give our contact guide with Viator a zero on a scale of 1-10. He was absolutely worthless. After showing up late, he tried to be humorous with his explanation about various episodes in the castle, all of which fell flat and some of which were rather tease less. As we waited to get in for the early viewing of the Tower near the entrance gate, we asked him to provide some information about the castle and the events that occurred here. He was unable to do so. Our group of 11 was unanimous in feeling he was absolutely worthless as a guide. I would only recommend this tour based on the terrific job the warden did in our 30 minute period of time with him. Sorry Mr Guide, but you need to find other employment.
