The tour as advertised was very good. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and funny and he gave good recommendations. We didn't see bears, but we were warned this would be the case due to the season and it was still a tour well worth spending the day on. However, because we didn't see bears and it was Halloween, our guide offered and extra excursion to an abandoned military base. We figured it would be a spooky atmosphere and some ghost stories so we agreed to it. We shouldn't have. The base was never active so there weren't any stories. It was mostly graffiti, broken glass, and just wandering around tunnels while our tour guide moaned like a ghost - in the way a dad might tease kids on Halloween. What we did see was dead dog and the skeleton of a puppy. Not okay. They brushed it off like it was nothing. This was not a tourist attraction. It was just boring, gross, and sad. So go on the tour and enjoy, but if they ask if you want to make an extra stop to an abandoned military base, say NO!

Sebastian our tour guide was wonderful. The vehicle was super comfortable. There were plenty of stops and the views were spectacular. We went in Autumn and to see the bright vivid colours of the trees while the sun was shining was truly magical. Balea lake especially was absolutely breathtaking. Walking through the clouds and seeing the mist over the lake and the Transfagarasan road. Unfortunately we didn't get to see any bears as most have been moved away or have gone into hibernation so i was a bit sad about that but otherwise the trip was a memory of a lifetime.
