Ciao, I’m Alessandro, the owner of Siena Tartufi. I’m a truffle hunter from 22 years. I have 3 dogs, Moka and Freddie a Lagotto Romagnolo and Pepita, a black Labrador. I really love going outside with my dogs looking for truffles . In every season there are different types of truffle that will be collected and you can do it with us... Alessandro and his dog Mocha gave us the ultimate truffle hunting experience. We found 17 truffles! It ended up just being my fiancé and I on the tour so felt like a nice private experience. After, he took us to his small truffle shop right off the town square in Siena where we had a few rounds of truffle tasting plus a glass of wine included. Very educational and informative - him and his assistant (she’s a masters student at University Siena) were very helpful with restaurant recommendations too which they did not need to do. We highly recommend for all travelers as a top thing to when they visit Siena.

We had a wonderful time with Alessandro and Moka. It was a highlight of our entire trip! It’s a great experience for all ages to get out in the countryside and experience truffle hunting. I would recommend it for families with children for the fresh air and scenery and to experience finding truffles and getting to know sweet Moka. Alessandro was kind, accommodating and generous with his time and energy. He gave us such a good explanation of truffle hunting we all want to get a dog and change our careers to truffle hunters! In addition, he gave us a very delicious sampling of his truffle products and great suggestions for lunch and transport. Our experience in Siena with Alessandro will be one of our most memorable in Italy. We cannot recommend highly enough! Mahalo from Hawaii!

The experience has been spectacular. Dogs have encountered many truffles very quickly. They have explained the types of truffles and the training process of the dogs. Alessandro and Tatiana have been lovely all along.
