Half Day Rock Climbing and Half Day Canyoning trips are an excellent way to add excitement to your vacation. Learn to rock climb, rappel down a waterfall, or test your skills if you already have experience. Our trips range from 4 to 5 hours and are conveniently close to the city of Tucson and our gear is top of the line and in good condition. Gears are inspected for safety after and before every use. I went on two half-day adventures with Arizona Climbing Guides. On the first day, we went rock climbing, and on the second day, we went repelling. I have never tried either but always wanted to do so. Javen was my guide on both days. He reached out prior to the appointments to go over details and meeting place. He is highly experienced and a very good teacher. He explained everything in detail and was always safety conscious. He provided a helmet and climbing shoes for me to use. With Javen’s coaching and encouragement, I was able to climb to the top of a rock face and repel down multiple drops. Both days were at Windy Point on Mt Lemmon. He was very accommodating and wanted me to do what I wanted and enjoy doing it. By learning about rock climbing first, it was helpful when climbing back up after repelling. I’m 62 and found some of the climbs back to the top challenging, but Javen took it slow and never minded me taking a break. He was always there, ready to offer a hand when needed. Javen was the perfect guide! He even knew about the plant life and took photos!
