Dalyan Mud Baths and Turtle Beach Day Trip from Bodrum

When I booked the day trip, it was with hotel pick up and drop off. Only the day before I received a message with a Google link in it, saying we had to be there for 07:15 and not to be late. We had to pay 60 lira for the taxi both ways, so an additional 120 lira. The mud bath we went to, want not like the picture. It was like a large paddling pool that was ankle deep. The mud was on pedestals, you got handfuls off it and covered yourself. Oh boy, we warned, it’s cold and so are the showers. Lunch was disappointing, one small piece of chicken each, salad and bread, no dessert to speak of, just an apple. If we wanted so much as a drop of water, it came with a price. The beach was nice, didn’t have long there, just over an hour. Turtles, yes we did see a couple and their Grace is unbelievable. But even this came with a cost. Before we got to the turtles, they said about feeding them, not who wouldn’t want to? So I purchased 2 boxes of crab, I have to say it wasn’t quite what we were expecting. All the meat has been taken out and what we got was a box of all the parts that would normally go in the bin. For this privilege I had psi 100 lira. Throughout the day, a photograph is taking photos of you, then at the end of the boat trip you asked if you want them, 100 lira each photo. Ok so why have I given it 2 stars? The captain of the boat, was pleasant and helpful, for our trip with him. A couple of turtles did come right along side, they were most certainly the best part of the day. Would I recommend this trip, sorry no I wouldn’t. Don’t waste your money.

Really enjoyed being mud monsters and the warm baths. The mud is sulpher based so there is a slight smell.

Great activity! The guide however... Not so great. We were together with some Russian speaking guests so there were 2 guides: 1 Russian and 1 English. The Russian lady would speak for about 20 minutes and then the English guide would speak for about 5. So the English speaking people were left wondering about the history, planning and general ideas of the trip. In all I would have rather booked a more private trip than this one. Lunch was also pretty sub par (pasta with mayonnaise?!). The boat had about 2 sunny spots and the rest of the guests were in the shade on side way benches. So if you can: book a more private version of this trip. The. I'm sure you will have an unforgettable day!
