The boat ride in the Mediterranean itself was a wonderful experience. I have never seen so many shades of blue water at the same time! Enchanting! Then the ruins of a well-built city of ages thousands of years ago... history stands before you at every step. A great experience, though much of it was just a look from the boat.
Then the walk at Demre Myra through the rock-cut tombs from the Lycian era, built more than 5000 years ago, which was awe-striking. Another remarkable spot was the church of St Nicholas. The ruins of the church with the story of St Nicholas aliaas Santa Claus does strike a chord..

Wonderful tour! Our tour guide Huseyien was so funny and very knowledgeable about Turkiye in general and the places we went. I wish we would have had a bit longer with the rock tombs and not stopped at the onyx factory. I hate when tours do that. But it was a lovely long day!
