Hierapolis ("Holy City") was an ancient  Greco-Roamn city in Phrygia located on hot springs in South West Anatolia. Its ruins are adjacent to maodern Pamukkale. Hierapolis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hot springs there have been used as a spa since the 2nd Century B.C.E. and people came to soothe their ailments with many of them retiring or dying here. Some of the highlights; the large necropolis is filled with sarcophagi, the main street with the gates and latrines, cathedral, the theatre and St. Philips tomb. The hot springs causing cascades which are called the Cotton Castle. Because of the distance we have to leave Antalya early and return late but its worth it to experince this wonderful place.

Pumukkale is a must see destination if you love a good landscape photo. With ancient roman ruins and beautiful white cliffs with thermal pools overlooking city and mountains alike. Also, the Cleopaterah pool offered a refreshing swim on a warm day. Our guide Bekir was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge of the tour and the surrounding area were terrific. Really engaged with the group as a whole and was very approachable the whole time, encouraging the group to ask questions and discuss among ourselves. Took us to a great spot above Antalya, allowing us to get an amazing photo of the city as an extra after the tour of Pamukkale. Made what I expected to be a memorable tour that much better with his passion and enthusiasm.

This is a MUST DO ACTIVITY! Worth the long drive for the absolute beauty of this location. The thermal pools are beyond what expected, despite being busy there is more than enough room to still enjoy this popular spot. The ruins and remains of the Roman civilisation break up the day with some walking to be done, so bringing comfortable shoes and the Kleopatra pools are phenomenal; warm and well-kept. This is a once in a lifetime trip and our tour guide, Bekir was incredible in keeping us informed of the history and entertaining our group to have the day feel exciting. This would not have been a five star experience without him - however the views here are insane, and they must be seen in person. - Bring comfortable shoes that you’re happy walking in! But also changing in and out of quickly due to the water. ????

Bekir was an incredible tour guide! Highly recommended for your trip as he breaks up the day with all the history facts! Incredible place to see and experience such historic sights.
