The three locations were very good. The Kekova boat trip was the highlight of the tour. View, water and ruins. Perfect! The St Nicolas church in Demre was unimpressive as a structure at least to me but historically significant. Too bad its nave and aisles were crowded. A lot of russians praying next to empty St Nicolar sarcophagus touching the protective glass, so be ready for a wait to get there. Did not like the total commercialization of the area. Matthew 21:12 Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. and Matthew 21:13 It is written, he said to them, 'My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you are making it 'a den of robbers. Yeah, nothing has changed since than.
The Myra rock burrial sites and the amphitheather were impressive and in good conditions so to speak, so one has a chance to enjoy the intricate rock carving.
What I did not like was the small, outdated and obviously underpowered bus, which had to climb the steep mountain road from Antalya to Myra in the first gear. Seats were tight and the bus AC was doing its best but abviously it was insufficient. may be because of that the bus took some backward roads that did not look like they are frequented by tour buses, so I guess it was compensation for the not that comfortable ride since one had a chance to observe real, agricultural, somewhat poor but beatuful turkish countryside.
One guide spoke turkish, german and english, he took care of the 25 english speaking part of the group. He was knowldegable and pleasant dont remember name. Another guide was russian speaking and was guiding the rest of the tour group.
