Where to begin? Well, Florence was beautiful, but getting there an adventure. Started well enough, leaving on time with the driver letting us know we "were in his hands". A little over 1/2 way through the drive to Florence we pulled into a gas station beside the freeway. Eventually we were told there was a problem with the bus and that another was on the way. Fair enough, s**t happens. Took about 45 minutes for another bus and I thought that was pretty good on their part. Off we went. Entering a roundabout in Florence the driver of the new bus slammed on his brakes stopping the bus. We had collided with motor scooter which was now wedged under the bus. Again fairly quickly, after making sure the young guy was ok and the broken scooter was extracted we finally made it! Florence is great, but the young girl doing the walking tour was a bit overwhelmed I think. It was her first year and I'm sure she'll get better. They got us back to the ship on time and we still had a wonderful day, but it did seem to be a comedy of errors. I don't think I really blame them and they did their best to make sure the tour happened, so good for them. But, I think next time? Will take the train.
