If you wish, visit also the inside of the Cathedral, where you will admire the artworks of important Italian artists, such as Michelangelo, Donatello and Bernini. If you are more interested in the Palio tradition, we suggest to visit a Contrada Museum. Barbara was an incredible guide, she was a wealth of information, but was able to break it down for us to easily understand and follow along with the different timelines. She took us to one of the 17 little neighborhoods that make up Siena and was able to really help us to explore that culture ended up taking us on a unique exploration of a new architectural area where they found tunnels that were carved out before Christ. We enjoyed the visit at Del Campo and the Duomo and all of the history and stories in between. Highly highly recommend this to tour if you really want to get a sense of Siena’s culture, we would not have been exposed to the richness if it hadn’t been for Barbara and taking thistour.
