    You will start your tour by visiting a typical medieval village placed on the hill that overlooks Lucca's plain. Here you will taste very good wine in the middle of a medieval, charming countryside full of wineries and pretty villages. The wine in this area are based on Sangiovese and Trebbiano Toscano, of the red and white wines respectively. The DOC covers an eclectic selection of wines made from two of the region's favorite grapes and a host of less 'Tuscan' varieties. The owner or a qualified guide, will guide you inside the life of the winery. During your visit, you will learn about the olive, food and wine that is produced here. After your visit, you will taste a select range of wine paired with select cheeses, selection of local sausages and salami. Also enjoy extra virgin olive oil with bread, bread baked in a wood oven, jams and more. There is also the option of a food taste for vegetarians and special items for kids.

We took this tour from Pisa, although we stopped in Lucca for some additional folks. We went to a small family winery in the hills. Getting out in the Tuscan hills was a thrill in itself. Our tour guide, Massimo, was terrific. He was very knowledgeable about wines and the culture of the area. We had appetizers to go with the wine that were quite good. It was a wonderful afternoon and one of the highlights of our trip. Massimo even made sure to drop us off near our hotel instead of the train station, which was really thoughtful. Book this tour! It was great!

Emilia was absolutely fabulous!! She made the tour a fun and interesting experience. She was also incredibly helpful recommending other activities for us. The folks at the winery -Greta and Emma-we’re just wonderful too. Emilia was training Giuseppe so he came along and added even more fun! Take this tour!

We had a fabulous time with Mossimo. While originally scheduled for one (incredible) vineyard, at our request Mossimo quickly booked a second- with a delicious lunch to boot. The wine was incredible and the beauty of the countryside is just breathtaking. Mossimo was knowledgeable, really terrific and made us very happy to be there.
