We arrived at 10 am at the Bay of Pigs monument, and our tour guide Hugo was there waiting for us. Once we got started, Hugo took us to another monument that had a carving of the Cuban island. He gave us an excellent historical overview of the island, and the history that led to what it was in its early stages, and up to current times. He is very knowledgeable, and answered every question we could throw at him!
We then proceeded to go around Little Havana to various locations- a market, a cigar making store, and other nice little places that were all fascinating. Again, the history behind them all was really interesting, and Hugo told it so well! We got to taste some really interesting Cuban coffee, and some excellent pastries as well from Party Cake Pastries. Delicious breakfast and other food there also! A nice Cuban clothing store we also visited.
The tour was well worth it . It was like taking a tour with a good friend, even though we had just met Hugo. He is an excellent tour guide- and there is absolutely nothing negative I can think of from the experience. We highly recommend this walking tour. Perhaps you will also get to have Hugo guide you through Little Havana. It was quite fascinating.
