Thankfully, I’ve been to the Uffizi before and was amazed by it. In 2006, we literally spent hours there, exploring. It was only natural that we would return with other family members to share in the experience. This time (11/2024), we booked a tour. Despite the fact that the tour started late due to a strike, our guide let us down. Once we got in, he brought us to one room and showed us 3 paintings and said we were allowed to tour on our own. It was beyond disappointing and a complete waste of time. He did the museum a huge disservice because there is so much to not only see, but to experience. I am a fan of tours and have loved all of the others we booked through Viator but this one through Florence City Tours was terrible and it is due to the guide. The tour was supposed to be a 1.75 hour tour with the ability to walk independently afterwards.
