Charleston's only chef led historic walking tour, cooking demonstration and lunch! Our experience begins with a 90 minute food history walking tour in the historic district, followed by a cooking demonstration, lunch & paired wine tasting at the popular local's spot Bistro a Vin. It's led by Charleston's only South Carolina Chef Ambassador & Palmetto Guild Certified tour guide, Forrest Parker. Leading the teams at some of Charleston's most iconic restaurants, Parker has been called a "visionary who calls upon the culture, history & flavor traditions of South Carolina to create heritage-infused experiences." Parker was recognized by then Governor Nikki Haley as a S.C. Chef Ambassador in 2016, a capstone for a culinary career that began in 1995. Chef Forrest invites you to take the path less traveled; to see, touch, sip and taste the Undiscovered Charleston!

Chef Forrest, being a native of the city, really brought the city to life as we strolled through the oldest part of historic Charleston. The highlight of the tour was the cooking demonstration at a little restaurant that was closed to the public. There was just enough room for the tour guests to sit at the bar and watch Chef prepare our lunch, which was served with wine pairings. He explained what he was doing and why, and even gave us some preparation tips, all the while entertaining us with stories about Charleston and about his experiences as a chef. This was an outstanding tour that I would recommend to everyone!

Chef Parker was amazing! Our 1st time to Charleston and we did the Undiscovered Charleston-history walking tour with wine and cooking class. He has such a wealth of culinary and SC history. The lunch was superb and we so appreciated the Southern influence infused with other cultures. A MUST to do!

Chef Forrest was amazing. Wide range of knowledge during the walking tour. The food was outstanding, in particular the Krispy Kreme bread pudding he made for dessert was maybe the best dessert I’ve ever had!! This is a must do…
