This did not offer value for money. We knew how much food we would be given in advance, from the online list of items. However, we thought there would be a carefully guided tour outlining things like where the food comes from, why it is regionally or culturally specific, etc. In the market we expected an outline of what comes from each region, and other interesting information. While our guide was a nice person, he was completely scattered and did not give almost any information about the food, culture, etc. When we met him, he thrust a pretzel and bottle of yogurt drink into each of our hands with no verbal description of why this is part of the tour. Then we walked to the tram and took it to the market. We walked through the market, again with no real information at all, and sat down for the meat sticks and a beer. I asked what kind of meat it was and the guide said he didn't know! Then we walked back to take the bus but the guide was unsure of the schedule so we waited a while on the side of the road. We were so hot that we asked for water (which we were supposed to get as part of the tour) so he ran to a store to buy it while we waited by the road. He bought one two-lire bottle and poured some in cups for each of us. Finally he said "Okay, let's forget the bus and catch the tram again" which was fine with us but he ran across the road, not at a crosswalk, in front of about four lanes of cars (!!) and we had to climb over the railing to get to safety. We took the tram and visited a beautiful church which was interesting to see, and then he asked if we wanted to go to one of two restaurants. We said we had been to one so he chose the other which was fine. When we arrived, he told us we should try the appetizers and we asked for water. We were thinking that the appetizers were not on the list of things included but we said yes. He shared these as well, and then we were charged by the restaurant (an expensive touristy restaurant) for both the appetizers and water!! Then he ordered the dessert (donuts) that were part of the tour and left. All in all, I would never recommend this tour. We've been on numerous other food walking tours and they all come with more food, more organization, much more verbal description of the food, culture, etc, and we've never been asked / told by a guide to order more and pay for it!! This was definitely not worth the money we paid!
