Unique Caño Negro is one of the most amazing trips for incredible birdwatching in Costa Rica. Our tour starts in La Fortuna at 7:30 am. On the way to Caño Negro you will have the opportunity to learn about numerous agricultural plantations of Costa Rica such as yucca, papaya, pineapple, sugar cane and oranges. Then we will arrive at the "El Caiman" restaurant, where we will enjoy a welcome drink and snack, before the boat tour on the "Rio Frio" river. Here we will have 2 hours to see egrets, herons, monkeys, caimans, iguanas, bats and a variety of flora. An excellent Costa Rican typical meal will be waiting for us, back at El Caiman Restaurant and while we have lunch, we can talk about the unforgettable experiences on the river.   • Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge, Cano Negro, Costa Rica
    Our tour starts in La Fortuna at 7:30 am.   • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

The whole day was well organized and our guide was excellent. All the other positive reviews perfectly describe the outing so there really is no need for me to repeat all the great aspects of the tour. I wanted to buy a colourful t-shirt that Canoa Aventura sells at their tour office location. The t-shirt features a toucan on the front and a capuchin monkey on the back. What a great souvenir of Costa Rica! Our guide took us to their tour office where I purchased the t-shirt. We were so pleased with our day that we also paid for the Full combo hike while we were there, scheduled for later that same week. Then we were dropped off at our hotel. Great service from Canoa Aventura!

Great day, great tour...our guide, Alvaro was very knowledgeable not just about the Cano Negro but about Costa Rica. We saw a lot of animals: birds, monkeys, caimans, bats, lizards, iguanas...etc. It's a can't miss tour, well worth the bus ride.

Site extraordinaire avec une faune abondante. Très calme, peu de touristes…. Nous avons fait 2h de voiture dont plus d’1 heure de piste mais je ne regrette pas! Le tour est très bien organisé, l’equîpe très sympa! Seul bémol, normalement le tour inclut le pickup a l’hôtel. Nous avons pris notre voiture car réservation tardive et difficile pour eux d’organiser notre pickup. Un test tarifaire aurait été le bienvenu!
