Renan is an expert, but not only does he know the history of Coimbra, Portugal, and the university, he is able to relate it to the experiences of whatever nationality you are from- so that you can understand the context. He was funny, passionate about his alma mater, and very patient with my mother's limited mobility. I didn't know I could learn so much about a place in 90 minutes, but the tour was more engaging than most of my university lectures!
